In the Beginning

In the beginning there was the Handspring, the latest and greatest PDA. It synced with Outlook so all my contacts and appointments were with me at all times. Back then I also had a Mobile Phone, yeah it was the big one. So I have two items to carry around and you'd know one of them would get forgotten, but it was still great.

So technology progresses and yep I got a Treo. Now I didn't have to carry a phone and a PDA. Technology was great. Time passed on, and my Treo got upgraded and I followed no matter what the cost. And since I was a Techie, I hacked them so I could change carriers. Yippee no cancellation fee when switching phones.

So this friend shows me his iPhone, rather he showed my wife, who could write graffiti on the Treo faster than most can type. Well it didn't take long for her to convince me she must have one. OK no problem, I can hack it and it will run on my provider. Oh and I'll have to get one too so I can teach her how to use it. The most convenient part was the data over the ATT 3G network. OK so I'll get two, change providers and we're off. Ah, but now my son wants one too. OK we'll get one for him too. The bill; well lets say my phone bill went from $69 a month to $300 and that even included a 20% discount.

Great family plan, RIGHT! What we do to stay up with technology! I remember when my phone bill was less than 20 bucks. Ah yes but technology is great and we'll do anything to stay up with it. My family is happy, and they surf the net when we are on road trips now. It's easy to keep them ocupied now. I love technology, so bring it on.
