Cell Phone sleeps with the fishes
By James Horne
I have an obsession with cell phones. I need to have one close -all the time. Some of my friends at work give me grief about it, but that's OK. What do they know, right? One day, I took my Wellcraft cruiser out on the Potomac for some well deserved R&R. I went to the marina straight from work with my trusty cell phone in my pocket, safe and sound. Quick as a flash, I undocked the boat and backed her out of the slip. I stopped at the gas dock for some fuel. As I bent over to tie up to the dock, the phone jumped out of my pocket, did a perfect two and a half somersault, and landed in the river.
I was crushed. Now the Croakers and Snapping turtles had access to my contacts, and I didn’t. I slowed looked up to see the dock attendant staring at me. "It happens." he said.
I just got this new I-Phone, with a neoprene sleeve so it wont slip around on the boat...
