Summary: I purchased unit because of attractive rebate from Tiger Direct. However, unit has been unreliable since unpacking. Looses files, constantly reboots, short battery life. Last file lose incident has rendered it unuseable and I can no longer access it from the PC to try and rewrite files or reformat drive (hangs explorer). Will toss as poor purchase.

Summary: I bought the Hydra because I needed a voice recorder - but I got so much more as well. I have absolutely loved the thing since I got it (it was only $10.00 after rebates from www.tigerdirect.com!) While it works with all of the computers that I have plugged it into, it seems to experience some very minor anomalies with some of them. Not a big deal. The voice recorder is great. The mp3 player sounds great (especially with the help of the EQ presets.) The FM tuner works better than my car or home stereos and I can use the thing as a regular USB drive. I'm considering buying my wife one as well!

Summary: It took 14 minutes to transfer 500 MB of MP3 files to this player. I guess I should not be surprised because Ultra's USB flash drives are slower than Ultra's competitors. Additionally, looking at pictures of the drive before purchase, it looked as though the player's data port was a standard mini-USB port. To my surprise/disappointment, the port on the player appears to be a proprietary connector. The player also seems to randomly shutdown.
