Summary: This is obviously a product that has undergone several generations of improvements. It is well thought-out, and easy to use. The included 'infomercial' DVD is also actually not a complete waste of time to watch. Consumables (bags, rolls, lids etc.) are quite expensive relative to what they are. Also, the distance between the vacuum channel and the sealer is a good two inches. This means that for rolls and bags, each time you seal, you use up this distance 'for nothing.' I understand that the distance is a margin of safety, but it feels like a bit of a waste. Overall however, a good addition to any kitchen, with the possibility to use it as a way to vacuum pack clothes etc.
