Strengths: Good incoming and outgoing volume control, mic mute switch, light and comfortable, good construction.
Summary: This is a good quality comfortable over the head headset. Incoming and outgoing sound quality is good.
There is a continuous rotary switch for the earpiece volume. This works very well at reducing the incoming volume. The mic volume has two settings. I keep the headset on the loader one and have been told that I sound distant when it is on the lower one. Controls are easy to operate. Wind over the mic is picked up. The sound of a fan immediately behind me is not, nor is the radio playing in the background very noticeable.
The headset is designed for use with either ear. The mic boom is approximately 5\" in length. From its vertical position relative to the rest of the headset, it can rotate 130 degrees forward. The headset band can be extended for a looser and/or better fit around the top of your head. When fully extended, it is probably more prone to breakage. The earpiece has a little give (in its attachment to the rest of the unit) providing a snugger fit. This, however, makes it appear less stable and more susceptible to damage. Despite the above I believe the construction is solid and durable when properly cared for. The black earpiece pad is cushiony and has a leather like feel.
Overall the design is good and sound quality high.

Strengths: good clarity and low noiseinexpensive
Summary: Bought this for my mother to use on conference calls. Thus far, she's been very happy using it. It's clearer than her old headset, and louder w/o sacrificing noise.

Strengths: Great performance for the value. Don't hear background noise, if any background at noise at all..
Summary: I must say I though all headsets were made equally.. Not this one. I actually purchased a cheap $11 Philips one of similar design at Lowe's and you CAN hear background noise. Other than that it was okay. But for a few dollars more this is a much better buy for the fact it cancels out background noise. You can't even hear water running in the background with this thing. I was actually also expecting that there would be noise say from the wind for the fact that it has no shielding on the mic area like my old one did. But that did not pose a problem at all
The padded part that goes against your ear is even better than the Philips one I purchased as that one was all foam. But this Plantronics one has a leather like material so it feels better around the ear.
You can't go wrong with this headset, I use it for the house phone and the cell phone. Better than bluetooth just for sheer fact its cheaper and no worries of it ever needing a charge.
