Summary: Just got it and already love it. I saw a review in the paper calling the RC9800i the “Holy Grail” of remotes, so I felt compelled to try it. I was able to set it up without reading the maunal which is a big plus for me and I can now control my Receiver, TV, DVD and cable box with one button push. It lets you set up each of the different rooms in your house, but I only did my den so far.

The remote displays the programming guide right on it’s screen if you want, which is nice if you want to see if there’s something better on without disturbing other people.

I have a WiFi for my laptop and a $50 Linksys Media adapter, so I used it to access songs and pics from my PC on my tv. It lets you view the pics on the remote if you want or play the music on it’s cheap little internal speaker too, but I prefer a big screen and a stereo.

Summary: Bought the RC9800i and my life has become simpler ever since! I have no need to be swapping in between remotes any more, and I can take all over the house and control every device I have, this is the real universal remote! Already placed an order for a second one, to have one uptairs and one downstairs. Really great if you can set it up to stream music and pictures from your computer and listen to songs or view pics anywhere in your house, I love this feature!

Summary: So far so good. It has done everything that I expected it to do. It is also female proof since the pictures on the screen tell them how to get to different devices.
