Strengths: Lightweight, ultra-compact, versitile, near full-size
Summary: The palmOne Universal Wireless Keyboard is, for me at least, an essential accessory for my PDA. I bought the keyboard as I frequently enter long notes into my PDA and am very bad at entering data using graffiti. None the less, I would recommend the keyboard even if you are proficient at graffiti as it afford a number of other advantages, the most important being a full range of characters and symbols.
The keyboard is amazingly compact, folding down to just a little larger than the PDA itself and its weight is a huge advantage to me, since I cycle most everywhere and also need to enter lots of data, frequently and in each of the various locations where I work. The combination of PDA with this keyboard yields a near-laptop level of functionality with a level of mobility that even the lightest and tiniest tablet or laptop computer cannot hope to touch.
The action of the keyboard is comparable to most laptops but requires a little more pressure and exactitude with keystrokes, but practice makes perfect (well…better) here. The unfolded keyboard is an ‘only slightly tight’ full size and the only annoying thing about layout is that the space bar has been split in two to accommodate the hinge on which the board unfolds and I manage to hit this all the time, resulting in not space in the text and, after a hour or so, an uncomfortable thumb. This, of course could be a design fault of my thumb rather than the keyboard! A nice feature that works on at least palmOne PDAs is the ability to program function keys to your own settings. The other function keys are set up for palmOne PDAs and are very convenient and intuitive.
There are, not surprisingly, a few disadvantages, or to be more correct, trade-offs with this keyboard. The extremely low weight is the result of lightweight components that MAY not stand the test of time if you are a heavy user. While I have used it very frequently for over two months and type with a pretty heavy hand, the unit is showing no problems but I fear that it could wear in time and, more likely, that if I dropped it, it might break. Of course, these are trade-offs and given the cost of the keyboard and its versatility, they are not concerns at all for me.
Overall, this would be a very helpful accessory for most users and essential for those who enter lots of text or data and who want to turn their PDA into a quasi-laptop.

Strengths: Nice design, very compact
Summary: I am using this with a Treo 650 and it is very unreliable. It comes with driver 1.05 but there is an update to 1.08 on Palmone's website. Neither driver works good. When I am in the sms program, it sends double messages and turns the caplocks on. Sometimes the keys works and sometimes they don't and it is very frustrating. The layout is good. The pda stand is flimsy. I have noticed that the keyboard performs alittle better when the treo is in the laying to the left side position opposed to the upright postion. I cannot believe that this is one of the compatible devices! I will keep playing with it since I have only had it for a week day. But I shouldn't have to play with a keyboard. It should just work. I have to hit the keys multiple times to get the right letter.
I am about to give up on this keyboard. It shouldn't be that hard. So far I have turned off the power saving feature and moved the key rates to slow. What else can be done? This is really a poor product. I have an idea. I removed the sd card and thouoght that might be blocking the ir port. Well I still have the same problems with the spacebar and having to hit the keys multiple times.
I have even turned Bluetooth off. Thinking that that might have something to do with the problem. I have the beam receive right now set to the off position. I hope someone else has some suggestions.
I don't like the placement of the question mark key! There is no led to let you know that the keyboard is on. The manual does not give much information on troubleshooting.
I don't know how this keyboard works with other devices, but i would not recomment this product for use with the Palmone Treo 650.

Strengths: It is very compact, lightweight and great for traveling.
Summary: I have used this product before. A friend had the same one. I loved it, and that is why I purchased it now. I have a new PC with windows XP. For some reason, the cd-rom it comes with is not installing the keyboard's software properly. The instruction manual is brief adn the troubleshooting guide on the cd is of no help. I am determined to figure out what the problem is, but honestly...had I known what a hassle this was going to be I would not have bought the product and I would haev opted for something else. Overall though, like I had mentioned before, I was familiar with the product prior to my purchase and I really liked it.
