Strengths: Visually more interestingIntuitive interface -- once you get used to it
Summary: I suspect someday that the interface on this program will seem \"normal\", but it takes getting used to, and any time something with which you are quite familiar changes, it causes frustration. A little like rearranging the location of everything in your supermarket. Eventually you'll see the improvements, but in the short run it drives you buggy. Another reason to delay upgrading is that files created in 2007 are not compatible with earlier versions of Office -- which is still used by 95% of the people you might be sharing files with. They can get a reader to interpret your files, or you can save them in the earlier format, but this is guaranteed to cause you some difficulty sometime. Why on earth would Microsoft not include Outlook in this package? Probably to charge you another $100 or so to buy a copy. So while this version of Office seems a bargain, by the time you add a copy of Outlook it is far less so.

Strengths: includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Summary: Good product for the price compared to Office Standard or Business editions. Included programs are sufficient for the average home user. The only thing missing is Outlook which is not important if you have an email account through Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.
