Strengths: when it locates enough platforms, it works great.
Summary: It can be a little difficult to set up, but once you get it working, it works great. The interface is very intuative. It would be nice if there was a way to turn the weather radio on and off without disabling the FRS radio

Strengths: Ability to communicate with and locate others, and the ability to pass waypoint data. Sufficient memory to upload a large number of Garmin maps.
Summary: As a geologist that works in remote and heavily vegetated areas, the Rino 130 is an ideal tool to remain in contact with fellow researchers (up to a mile with FRS). We found the Rino a very useful tool in passing geospatial data through the waypoint sender and by verbal communication. The Rino changed the way we do research and increased our productivity in the field.
