Strengths: 5 European languages. Smooth interface with NuVI GPS units. Common phrase index by activity type. Audible spoke translations.
Summary: Just received my Garmin Language Guide for my NuVI 670 GPS unit. Though I haven't travelled overseas with it yet, it does seem impressive thus far. Spanish German, French, English, Italian and Portuguese are all covered. You can search by word in any language and translate it to another. Pretty cool for that foreign word you can't figure out. Even better is the phrase transltor. Pick a common activity and several common phrases come up. If you can not find the perfect one, pick one close and other off-shoot items appear. With a tap of the screen it will even speak it through the speaker. Seems helpful if wanting to ask for directions in a different country.
I would recommend this product as a nice aid, it is well integrated in the Garmin GPS system.

Strengths: very easy to use and install
Summary: I did not expect to be able to type in a sentence and have it say it in another language, but that would be a great feature. I do like that I can type in just about any word an it will provide a list of commonly used phrases associated with that word.

Strengths: Very portable. Able to translate phrases easily, rather than mix and matching words from a dictionary.
Summary: Bought this guide for the 8th grade French trip to Quebec City. It came in very handy to order from menus and to ask for directions. It also provided a great reference to words we saw but didn't understand.
