Summary: I think you are out to damage the reputation this product and/or the manufacturer, Digistore Solutions.
I do remembered that they have a free! upgrade sometime during December 2006 or January 2007.
Digistore Solutions even release Centurion DiscHub, a model that include built-in DVD-R/W Drive. I thought I saw an article on Centurion DiscHub several days ago.

Summary: I have no problem with my 7 units of Centurion CD. I have 2 Units at home and 5 Units in the office. I have never encounter database corruption till to-date.
The bundled software, MediaTracker Lite is indeed limited, but they have the MediaTracker Standard. I have no problem paying $25.00 to use the full version.

Strengths: Need only 1 USB cable.
Summary: I bought three and had to send back two because they stopped rotating when 50 or more CD's were installed. The included software will search by CD name ONLY even though you must scan the contents in your CD drive before installing into the unit! The database corrupts often so backup the database VERY often. They have been promising a software update since Oct 2006. Still not here. Full version software costs $25.00 and is keyed to one of your units. If that unit fails, the software goes into a 30 day trial mode, then quits!!! Full version displays file name and dates but not which CD it's on nor which folder it is in. You....must...slowly...load....one...cd ...in...at...a...time...or....the...database....will ...corrupt. Centurion support makes many promises but has so far not acknowledged the may problems these units have, such as: Many units stop rotating before they can be filled. I had to shake mine to get it moving again. Often when reinserting a CD the unit will spit it back out. You then have to unplug the unit and cancel the check-out window. Then plug the unit back in and check-in the CD again. The eject hammer strikes after EVERY check-in. You may have to wait up to two minutes for this to happen. You MUST wait for the hammer, or the database will become corrupted.
