Summary: I bought these speakers to extend our stereo into the dining room and occasionally out to our deck. They were reasonably priced (and often have rebates, if you don't mind that kind of thing). Their sound quality has been very good. There has been very little static, and the auto-tuning feature works pretty well. They can be powered either by wall plug (one per speaker) or 6 C Batteries each. I have not tested how long they run via batteries.
The remote control is fairly basic, just volume up and down and a power button. Unfortunately, the speakers only stay in stand-bye mode for about 5 minutes after they are shut off by the remote. During that time, you can turn them back on via the remote, but after that you need to turn them on from the button on each speaker. I wish they would stay in stand-by mode forever when powered via the DC plug.
The sound quality has been fine for our needs. However, it should be noted, that each speaker plays both left and right channels (I think there are two actual speakers per 'tower' ). So, you don't actually have a left and right tower. That wasn't a big deal for background music, but won't really work for a home theater.
Even with the above limitations, these speakers have been fine for our use and we would buy them again.

Summary: I am not real happy with these speakers. I don't know if I have done something wrong (doesn't seem possible since it is just plug and use). I have them hooked up to my TV and the signal between the speakers and base keeps getting lost so I lose the sound on both speakers. I am going to contact the manufacturer and will update after I speak with them.
